I know this looks like some sort of rash or a bad case of “backne” but it is actually the effect of bird shot on a human body. As you can see, the wound victim is still standing and the wounds, for the most part, are superficial. This is exactly why bird shot is not a good defensive round. #4 buckshot would be a good in between to ensure the shot is effective in stopping the threat but not over penetrating and causing a threat to others in the home and even possibly outside of the home.
